About Budding Chefs and Deb JohnsonAbout Budding Chefs With an idea sparked by a successful Chef-themed birthday party for my then 4 and 7 year old boys in 2006, I created Budding Chefs LLC to provide fun, interactive hands-on cooking experiences for children. Budding Chefs classes incorporate local, natural ingredients when possible. Classes are held mainly at Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay, but also in private homes, schools, churches, and community centers. Children are more likely to try things that they help make, and many times they will try something in a class with others, or a grown up who is someone other than their own parent. I consider class a success when I hear that students went home and immediately wanted to make the recipe for their family. About Deb My educational/professional background is in social work and education; I have a passion for teaching children the basics of cooking and good nutrition. When I'm not teaching Budding Chefs classes, I enjoy reading, being on the water, searching for new recipes, coordinating an early education volunteer program, and spending time with my husband and boys (who are now 21 and 25!)
